CAR FALL FORUM 2023

The 2023 CAR Fall Forum is geared towards REALTORS® who want to become more involved at CAR or in the REALTOR® association. Don’t miss out on new ideas, new products, networking and fun this October 8-11, 2023. We hope you can attend in-person to engage with other REALTOR® leaders and explore new ideas in beautiful Snowmass, Colorado this fall.   Included with your registration is a opening reception, networking lunch, coffee breaks and sessions like:

2023 Legislators of the Year & 2024 Legislative Preview: The CAR Government Affairs team will present Legislator of the Year Awards to six legislators who were committed to housing and property rights issues in the 2023 legislative session. All attendees are welcome to attend and bring your questions as we discuss what you need to know about potential legislation for the upcoming 2024 session.

CAR Inaugural Dinner: Join us for our “80s REALTOR® Prom” themed dinner to thank past leadership and to meet the new CAR leadership team. The CAR REALTOR® of the Year award will be presented along with other Distinguished Service awards for an evening you don’t want to miss. Monday, October 9. Dress encouraged is 80s Prom Style. This event requires a separate ticket.

Christine Hansen – Breakout Session: “Discovering the True Authentic Leader Within You” with Christine Hansen: 5 ways to discover & build the best version of YOU! Which again will blend into the title of Discovering the true authentic leader within you. This will be light and a little more personal and will really dive into the best way to understand who you are and also who you are not!

Strategic Think Tank Forum: Join the Strategic Thinking Committee and facilitator Brian Copeland as we explore the Power of Moments: Creating mentally healthy moments, creating professional moments, and creating welcoming moments. This powerful, interactive brainstorming session is designed to reset the way you approach business and leadership and will leave you with new tools to create amazing, memorable moments.

Networking Lunch: Get ready to “Back to the Future” at this 80’s themed Networking lunch. Marty and Doc will guide your team through a fun networking activity with prizes. The Exhibit Hall game “Nightmare on REALTOR® Street” prize will be drawn at the end of this event, so make sure you game card is complete and handed in before attending. You must be present to win. Keynote “Uncovering the Stories at the U.S.-Mexico Border” with Jason De León: Anthropologist and Author Jason De León will discuss the current situation unfolding on the border of Mexico and the United States, share his outlook on the future of the issue of clandestine migration, and what we can do to help make the world a better, more welcoming place for all. Session brought to you by CAR’s Diversity & Inclusion and Global Committees.

MLS Forum: Join MLS professionals Sam DeBord, CEO of the Real Estate Standards Organization (RESO), and James Yockel, CEO of the Greater Rochester Assoc of REALTORS® as they discuss current MLS trends across the state and nation.

RPAC Reception: Come celebrate all that the REALTOR® Political Action Committee (RPAC) has accomplished this year on Tuesday, October 10. Join us as we recognize our top RPAC Investors, while enjoying drinks, appetizers, and a chance to win a $500 gift card. Cost to attend: $25 a ticket, which goes directly to RPAC. AE Forum (invite only)

At this meeting, Local Association Executives discuss various topics affecting members, local boards, and the real estate industry.  The Forum is also an opportunity for AEs and CAR to share information, exchange ideas, and develop new ways to work better together to provide optimal services to members.

 

CAR BOD Meeting

The CAR Board of Directors Meeting is the bi-annual governance meeting of the CAR Board of Directors.

 

CARBS BOD Meeting

The purpose of CAR Business Services, Inc. is to develop innovative programs and services for Colorado REALTORS® and generate non-dues revenue to CAR. Directors are elected by the Board of CAR Business Services, Inc.

 

CAR Foundation BOD Meeting

The CAR Foundation invites you to join our mission to help all Coloradans find safe and attainable housing.  Join us for our Board of Directors meeting and learn about our impact, plans for this year and how you can get involved.

 

CAR Past President Forum (invite only)

Past Presidents & Past Chairs Forum is to share historical and current perspectives on today’s association and industry challenges.

 

Colorado Project Wildfire Task Force

This session will deliver exclusive insights on these wide-ranging efforts, tools and resources designed to help you make a direct impact in your community to lessen the risk and damage caused by wildfires every year, including valuable resources available to your clients/homeowners.

 

District Forums

Prior to the Board of Directors Meeting, CAR’s five districts (Western, Northeast, Southeast, Mountain and Metro) will have an opportunity to meet separately and discuss BOD meeting motions and agenda items.

 

Diversity & Inclusion Committee

The Diversity & Inclusion Committee explores and identifies inclusion and diversity strengths, issues, and opportunities within all aspects of CAR.

 

Finance Committee

The Finance Committee reviews and sets guidelines for the annual budget that is then considered by the Leadership Council and the Board of Directors. The Finance Committee also reviews and manages the Colorado Association of REALTORS®’ fiscal operations, reporting to the Board of Directors at each regular meeting.

 

Investment Committee

The Investment Committee selects and oversees CAR’s investment firm, reviews the CAR Investment Policy, and reviews and makes recommendations on investment strategies for CAR, RPAC, and Issues Mobilization funds.

 

Leadership Council Meeting

The Leadership Council conducts the affairs of CAR during this meeting.

 

Member Services Committee

The Member Services Committee focuses on the areas of Member Awareness, Consumer Awareness, Communications, Professional Development, Conferences & Events, Research, Market Trends, and Media Relations.

 

NAR Director’s Meeting (invite only)

This meeting consists of all NAR Directors from Colorado. National issues, challenges, and areas of concern are addressed.

Brian Copeland is an active sales agent and Realtor in Nashville, Tennessee. He has appeared on numerous HGTV and The Learning Channel television shows and served as one of Facebook’s Global Community Leadership Council members. Brian has been a top producer in the Nashville market for 17 years. Brian and his spouse live with their two children on a farm where they raise cows, goats, chickens, and alpacas.

Jason De León

Jason De León is the Executive Director of the Undocumented Migration Project, a non-profit that raises awareness about migration and assists families searching for their missing loved ones. During the course of archaeological fieldwork, he met many people in Mexico who shared their often harrowing stories of migration with him. For his internationally renowned work in shedding light on the complexity of migration and U.S. immigration policies, De León was awarded a MacArthur Fellowship in 2017.
