‘Coming Soon’ Listings: Industry Marketing Tool Still Needed?

Despite low inventory and fierce competition among home buyers, the popular “Coming Soon” Listings are still being used as an industry-standard tool for sales and marketing. The MLS supports the early listings and accompanying signs if they are posted no longer than seven days in advance. This is in accordance with NAR’s Clear Cooperation Policy to curb “pocket” listings to make sure the home is available for all to see. CAR Spokesperson Kelly Moye uses the tool to prep her homebuyers and make a plan. “It gives us a chance to look through the virtual tour, maybe drive by the property, check out the location and then we set up that showing on Friday, and we know we’re ready to rock and roll on it,” Moye said. “It gives us a little bit of preparation time.”
