CAR Disaster Relief Efforts Update

CAR Disaster Relief Efforts Update

The National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) REALTORS® Relief Foundation (“RRF”) is donating up to $100,000; matching CAR’s contribution of $50,000 plus additional donations CAR receives for the victims who were impacted by the recent horribly destructive floods here in Colorado.

CAR will be accepting grant applications for up to $1,500 for mortgage and temporary housing assistance only from November 1, 2013 through January 31, 2014.  Each grant will be reviewed by the committee appointed by 2013 CAR President Keith Kanemoto before they are submitted to the RRF Board for final approval. The committee members include- Lori VanDerWege (Colorado Springs), Francie Martinez (Fort Collins), Michael Burkhard (Grand Junction), Denise Storm (Durango) and Amy Aschenbrenner (Longmont).

The RRF is dedicated to providing housing-related assistance to survivors and their families across the country. There are numerous ways your association can participate and show your support for NAR’s and CAR’s efforts.

  • Make a financial donation to CAR Floods Relief efforts to help CAR reach NAR’s maximum matching contribution of $100,000.  CAR has already committed and raised $77,650.  Check should be made payable to NAR REALTOR® Relief Foundation.
  • Donate one or more items to NAR’s upcoming auction to show your support for their Foundation that helps so many.  Attached is the REALTOR® Relief Foundation Online Silent Auction that will be held November 8-10, 2013.  The deadline to participate has been extended to Tuesday, October 22, 2013.
